Your Custom Closets Questions Answered

As custom closet professionals, we have the privilege of answering a lot of questions about our storage systems. As with most other things, when it comes to custom closets, there are no dumb questions; it’s perfectly natural to have curiosities and concerns about a product that you are investing in and having installed in your home. What we’d like to do is answer a few of our frequently asked questions over the next several months. If you have a question that we haven't answered yet, please feel free to give us a call anytime to have your concerns addressed.
  • Q: Can I have a custom closet installed if I have a closet or other storage area that is oddly shaped or has some hard-to-work-with feature? The answer to this is one is an unequivocal yes! We custom-build our storage systems for the space that you have available. This means that if you have an asymmetrical closet, a cutout section, a window, low ceilings, a slanted wall or any other issues, we can simply work with it. Our goal is to optimize your space, and that’s what we will do, no matter what your space consists of.
  • Q: How much can I store on the shelves? When we install your shelving, we attach them right to the studs in your walls. For this reason, they’re extremely sturdy and won’t pull out of the wall or break. The shelves are made of 3/4” MDF and covered with a thermally fused melamine coating. In the years that we’ve been in business, we’ve never had a client break a shelf by overloading it. As long as you’re using the shelf to store items, you should have no issue. Our wood products do come with a lifetime guarantee, though: If you should break an item, we’ll replace it free of charge.
  • Q: How do I keep my custom closet system clean? The melamine coating that we use is heat-, scratch- and stain-resistant, so you should only have to dust it periodically in order to keep it looking great. Use a damp or dry cloth to remove dust as needed. If something spills or if you have some other mess on the shelves, you can use a mild soap. Be sure to rinse well and dry it completely with a dry cloth before using the shelf or drawer again.
You will likely find that your custom closet is easier to care for and use than any other organizer you’ve had in the past. Again, if you have questions, we have answers, so give us a call. You can also have your questions answered at your free, no-obligation, in-home consultation. A simple phone call is the first step in getting that scheduled, so contact us today.
